Hackers Breach ICS at Five Polish Water Treatment Plants

Poland’s security agency confirmed hackers breached industrial control systems at five water treatment facilities, gaining the ability to modify operational parameters and creating a direct risk to the public water supply. No service disruption was reported, but the unauthorized access to OT systems represents a serious threat to critical infrastructure. Attribution has not been disclosed. ICS operators in the water sector should urgently audit remote access controls and network segmentation between IT and OT environments.
