Okta Buys AI Security Startup Permiso for About $200M

Okta is acquiring Permiso, a startup focused on identity threat detection, in a deal a source told TechCrunch is worth about $200 million.

The acquisition gives Okta capabilities to detect threats against non-human identities, including AI agents, as enterprises expand agentic AI deployments across cloud environments. Terms beyond the reported price were not disclosed.
