KDDI Data Breach Affects Over 12 Million People

Japanese telecommunications giant KDDI says a breach of an email platform used by five internet service providers in the country exposed email addresses and passwords belonging to more than 12 million people. KDDI has not detailed the initial access vector. Affected users should change passwords and watch for follow-on phishing or account takeover attempts tied to the exposed credentials.
