Google DeepMind released Gemini 3.5 Live Translate, bringing near real-time speech translation with natural voice preservation to Google AI Studio, Google Translate, and Google Meet. The model aims to preserve speaker voice characteristics during translation rather than defaulting to a generic synthetic voice, representing a quality step in real-time multilingual communication. Available now in Google AI Studio for developers and rolling out to consumer Translate and Meet products.
